Gramwise

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Gramwise: Protein Tracker app (the “App”), provided by Mohamed Makled (the “Provider”, “we”), handles information. The Provider is responsible for processing in connection with the App and can be reached at support@mmcapitals.com.

At a glance: Your food log stays on your iPhone. Gramwise has no account, no ads and no cross-app tracking. We use RevenueCat for purchase and subscription analytics; your food log and Health data are never sent to RevenueCat. When you scan a barcode, only that barcode is sent to Open Food Facts to look up the product.

Your food log

Food names, amounts, protein values, entry times and your daily goal are stored locally on your iPhone. The Provider does not receive, store or have access to this data. The Home Screen widget reads your progress and recent foods from the App’s storage on your device. Your log is included in your device backup under your Apple Account.

Barcode lookups

When you scan or enter a barcode that is not already saved on your device, the App sends the barcode to Open Food Facts to retrieve the product name and protein value. Like any website, Open Food Facts receives technical connection data such as your IP address and the App’s name and version. No food log, Health data or identifier of you is sent. See the Open Food Facts privacy policy for how it handles requests. Products you look up and values you correct are saved on your device. The bundled USDA FoodData Central catalog and the basic foods work without any network request.

Nutrition label scans and camera

The camera is used only to scan barcodes and nutrition labels. Images and recognized text are processed on your device and are not uploaded or stored by the App. You always confirm the protein value before it is saved.

Apple Health

If you have Pro and turn on the export, the App writes dietary protein to Apple Health, including the food name and time of each entry. Connecting exports your existing entries too. The App asks for write access only and never reads your Health data. Edits and deletions in the App update or remove the matching entries it exported. Data written to Apple Health is not sent to the Provider or any third party and is not used for advertising or marketing. You can stop the export in the App’s Settings and revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to record purchases and subscription status, help manage purchase access and understand subscription performance. RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction history, subscription status, an anonymous app-specific identifier, and store, currency and technical information required to operate its service. We do not send your food diary, protein intake, nutrition-label photos, Apple Health data, name, email address or advertising identifier to RevenueCat. We do not receive your payment-card information. Purchase data is not used for cross-app advertising tracking.

You can restore purchases from the app. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account. Purchase records handled by Apple and RevenueCat are separate from the food log stored on your iPhone; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription or delete purchase records held by these services. For purchase-data questions, contact support@mmcapitals.com.

See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Your food log stays on your device. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase records separately; contact us for questions or requests about that processing. You can edit or delete entries in the App at any time. Deleting the App removes the data it stored on your device. Entries exported to Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app. For questions, email support@mmcapitals.com.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and the Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the App changes. The current version and its date are always posted on this page.
